The Role

The foundation of Hailo’s success is our relentless commitment to building excellent products. At Hailo, we put our users first, that means both passengers and drivers.

As the first dedicated product manager for North America, you’ll help bridge technical and business worlds as you design products and services with creative and talented engineers. Working closely with our North American cities, you’ll ensure new products and services are tuned and customized to each city’s requirements, and always be on the lookout for the next big thing.

You will work closely with the General Managers and City Operation teams, as well the Driver and Marketing teams, to understand the specialized requirements of cities, and then intelligently feedback the requirements to the Product team. You’ll then work with our global engineering team to turn requirements into reality - including specification and wire-framing, through engineering and delivery, managing the product live in the market, and continuous feedback, testing, analysis, and refinement. You’re a go-getter with a knack for breaking down complex problems into steps that drive product development at a very rapid pace.

About You

You’ll have 5 years experience in end-to-end product design and management, preferably in an innovative/disruptive product or service. You will have managed launches in a number of international marketplaces, and app and website internationalization, regionalization and translation should be second-nature. We’re a mobile-first business but you should have exposure to varied platforms including web.

You’re highly organized, well structured in your thinking, with exceptional communication skills. You must be able to manage and prioritize a vast workload spread across our global network.

Responsibilities

  • Launch products and enhance existing products
  • Identify market-specific requirements and help drive product delivery
  • Understand customer needs and gather product requirements
  • Think locally but also globally to ensure the best and most efficient adaption of features, products and services across your geographic area
  • Own and deliver on your team's roadmap (and accompanying backlog)
  • Lead a team of experienced engineers and guide them throughout the delivery process
  • Engage closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods
  • Collect usage data, to be used for analytics, debugging and decision making
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, and make sure to execute on these

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years end to end Product Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience bringing new products to market (you will be asked to present examples during the interview) preferably disruptive/innovative and to scale
  • BA/BSc in Computer Science or other engineering or quantitative discipline from a top university
  • Exceptional analytical skills and data-driven mindset (Google Analytics/Flurry/SQL)
  • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Passion and enthusiasm to change the world

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong eye for design and aesthetics (fluency in Photoshop/Illustrator to explain new product features and design tweaks, but not focusing on pixel perfect design)
  • Knowledgeable across multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, UI, UX, sales, customer support, finance or marketing
  • Experience running A/B and/or multivariate testing
  • Creativity, teamwork, and strong attention to detail required
