Description: Manager/Director of User Growth 
Figure 1 is a network for healthcare professionals to view and share medical cases. Located in downtown Toronto, the company was named one of the top 7 startups to watch in 2014 by Canada’s National Post. Figure 1 launched one year ago and is now used by healthcare professionals in hundreds of hospitals in six countries. In December, the startup closed a seed funding round, and it will soon close a Series A round led by a prominent US firm. Extensive growth is now planned.
Figure 1 is seeking a Manager/Director of User Growth (depending on seniority or experience). Reporting directly to the CEO, the Manager/Director of User Growth will lead digital marketing initiatives and online user acquisition strategies. Applicants must have a strong track record in scaling a startup. We are seeking a versatile candidate with a great attitude and unyielding passion for delivering results.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Serving as a key member of the senior team guiding overall company strategy
  • Shaping the overall global strategy to grow Figure 1 user base across paid & organic channels on both web and mobile platforms
  • Selecting, implementing, and tracking new digital tactics for user acquisition
  • Overseeing the continual testing and optimization of online campaigns to deliver increased user growth
  • Measuring KPI’s using attribution analytics, and delivering actionable insights
  • Working with developer teams to review and optimize experience on Web & in Apps to improve conversion
  • Ongoing monitoring of user engagement; development of plans to improve user engagement over their lifecycle
  • Weekly reporting of campaigns against goals
  • Allocating budgets and managing costs
  • Supervising and mentoring the Coordinator of User Growth and, over time, structuring and expanding the growth team
  • 5-7 years of online digital marketing experience in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strategic thinker with leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Sound expertise in performance-based mobile advertising, preferably across iOS and Android
  • Proven ability to achieve aggressive targets while respecting budget allocation
  • Extensive experience with SEM, SEO, ASO, DSP’s, and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of IAB Ad standards & online marketing best practices
  • Experience in optimizing user funnels, on web and mobile platforms
  • Strong background in digital marketing using Facebook, Google Adwords, and other ad networks, as well as mobile analytics solutions
  • Familiarity with mCRM and eCRM with the ability to guide strategy as it relates to keeping users engaged via email and push messages
  • Expertise in A/B testing; demonstrable expertise in optimizing campaigns to achieve incrementally better results
  • Familiarity with growing and engaging communities on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+
  • Experience in healthcare category an asset; interest in improving healthcare at the minimum.
  • Experience with online/mobile marketing on a global scale is a strong asset
