The LinkedIn Network Updates Engineering team designs real-time feeds and news services that allows users to post, retrieve and consume the most relevant information to professionals on LinkedIn homepage, through LinkedIn Partner API and mobile services and as part of LinkedIn Groups experience.

* Re-invent the network updates stream as the most powerful and relevant source of news and data about LinkedIn members, industries and companies on the web
* Work with partners - like Twitter to build the most integrated experience possible
* Scale LinkedIn's network update system infrastructure to meet future growth needs.
* Improve the efficiency and cost of this high-traffic service
* Participate in product innovation.
* Become an integral part of LinkedIn's very talented, fast paced and collaborative team.
* Contribute in a major way in infrastructure improvements and product innovation and direction.
* Take pride in delivering and communicating results by analyzing services performance and product metrics.
Requirements:
* Must be a driven and passionate engineer willing to push your limits and be rewarded with noticeable professional growth.
* Hands-on development experience building distributed internet-scale systems.
* Expert knowledge of Java, server-side java technologies and object-oriented design.
* Ability to work in a fast paced, test-driven collaborative and iterative programming environment
* Strong understanding of the server side software, scalability, performance and reliability aspects
* Prior industry experience or participation in open source projects (Java or similar) is a plus
* Experience building large consumer facing search, data retrieval, news relevance systems is a major plus
* BS in Computer Science
