We’ve built a rich and robust data model for our marketplace and customer interaction based on

Node.js (and some Java) on top of a PostgreSQL database, defining our REST api using Swagger. As we’re growing our business and the sophistication of the business increases the demands to our backend are rapidly increasing.

The role:

We are looking for a senior server-oriented software engineer with a passion for data models, API design, database design and complex system integrations. The right candidate for this position will have good communication skills and be motivated to produce results in a dynamic and often hectic environment.

Our ideal candidate has:

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing new business requirements in  REST API all the way to the relational table level.
• Demonstrated experience envisioning a long-term micro-service based architecture to reduce internal dependencies and designing development path to get there.
• Experience Improving the robustness of the existing code base and bringing down the number of run-time errors to 0.
• Prior experience building integrations with 3rd party tools such as  Zoho, Stripe, Plaid, HelloSign, Mandrill, Twilio and Google Maps and Location APIs.
• Prior experience selecting the right technologies for implementing future architectures.
• Strong communication skills. 

You will:

The candidate will be responsible designing and implementing new business requirements in our model from the REST API all the way to the relational table level. You will also envision the long-term micro-service based architecture with less internal dependencies and work out a strategy for how we can get there. Beyond these initial goals, there’ll be lots of opportunities to grow, either through mentoring, coaching and managing teams, or by providing technical leadership and guidance.
